Addressing concerns about Trump\u2019s age\u2014he turned 79 in June\u2014Vance reassured the public, saying, \u201cThe president is in incredibly good health. He\u2019s got incredible energy. He\u2019s the last person making phone calls at night, and the first in the morning.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>When asked if he was prepared to step into the presidency, Vance responded with confidence. \u201cYes, terrible tragedies can happen. But I feel very confident the president is in good shape, will serve out the remainder of his term, and do great things for the American people,\u201d he said. He added that his experience over the last 200 days has provided valuable on-the-job training.<\/p>\n<p>A memo released last month by Trump\u2019s physician, Dr. Sean Barbabella, addressed public concerns about swelling in Trump\u2019s legs and noticeable bruising on his hand. According to the memo, Trump suffers from chronic venous insufficiency\u2014a common and generally benign condition in people over 70. The bruising was attributed to soft tissue irritation from frequent handshaking and the routine use of aspirin.<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, House Speaker Mike Johnson voiced enthusiastic support for Trump\u2019s proposal to hold a Republican National Convention before the 2026 midterm elections. Johnson believes the event would energize the party and spotlight its accomplishments since 2024.<\/p>\n<p>Trump introduced the idea on his Truth Social platform, saying the GOP is \u201cdoing really well\u201d and hinting that a pre-midterm convention would be unprecedented. \u201cStay tuned,\u201d he wrote. Johnson echoed the enthusiasm, posting on X, \u201cYES, Mr. President!
