Seventy-four years and countin\u2019. That\u2019s a lot of livin\u2019. I\u2019ve laughed till I cried, and cried till I laughed. I\u2019ve lost people I loved and found strength I didn\u2019t know I had. Life ain\u2019t been easy, but it sure as hell made me tough. You don\u2019t make it this far without takin\u2019 a few punches and learnin\u2019 how to swing back.<\/p>\n
There\u2019s somethin\u2019 humblin\u2019 about growin\u2019 older. Your body slows down, sure, but your spirit? That gets sharper, wiser. You start to see people for who they really are. And sometimes, you realize they never really saw you.<\/p>\n
That moment\u2014hear\u2019n my kids talk like I was already gone\u2014wasn\u2019t just hurtin\u2019, it was motivatin\u2019. It lit a fire in me. I wasn\u2019t about to go gentle into anybody\u2019s good night, not while I still had breath and sass in my bones.<\/p>\n
