Police have detained 350 people this year for prostitution-related crimes in the area.<\/p>\n
Many of the brothels are disguised businesses, such as bodegas or massage parlors. A previous letter sent by the group in April led to the arrest of eight suspected members of the 18th Street gang, accused of violent crimes to control the area. According to the group, the strip is now controlled by multiple gangs, including Tren de Aragua and Chinese criminal organizations. They allege these groups are involved in human trafficking and immigration fraud, contributing to an unsafe environment for families and children.<\/p>\n
