Vice President JD Vance stopped short of confirming a 2028 presidential run but said if he does run, \u201cthe politics will figure itself out.\u201d Speaking on \u201cMy View\u201d with Lara Trump, Vance emphasized his focus on his current role rather than future ambitions. \u201cIf we do a good job in 2025 and 2026, then we can talk about the politics in 2027,\u201d he said, adding that Americans are tired of politicians already campaigning for their next job.<\/p>\n
Vance acknowledged the competition ahead, saying a potential run wouldn\u2019t be handed to him. \u201cThere are a lot of great people. If I do end up running, it\u2019s not going to be given to me\u2014either on the Republican side or on the national side,\u201d he stated. He called his current job possibly the most important he\u2019s had outside of being a father and promised to focus on doing it well.<\/p>\n
On Democratic potential candidates, Vance criticized their records but primarily praised President Donald Trump\u2019s leadership style. He shared anecdotes about Trump\u2019s relentless work ethic and trust in delegation, saying, \u201cSometimes, the president will call you at 12:30 or 2 a.m., and then call you at 6 a.m. about a totally different topic.\u201d<\/p>\n
Recently, Vance said Trump is in \u201cincredibly good health\u201d but expressed readiness to assume leadership if needed. He described his experience over the past 200 days as valuable \u201con-the-job training\u201d should he need to step in as commander-in-chief.<\/p>\n
The White House also addressed concerns over Trump\u2019s health, clarifying that mild leg swelling and bruising were due to common, non-serious conditions.<\/p>\n
