Melissa Sloan, known as Britain\u2019s \u201cmost tattooed mother,\u201d recently shocked the public by revealing a rare photo of herself without her signature ink. Having accumulated over 800 tattoos in just ten years, Sloan says the process became an addiction. \u201cIt\u2019s like when you have a cigarette or a drink\u2026 I can\u2019t stop,\u201d she explained.<\/p>\n
With tattoo parlors turning her away, Sloan began inking herself using a tattoo gun she keeps in her car. She\u2019s been tattooing herself three times a week for a decade and admits she no longer remembers what she looked like before.<\/p>\n
As an experiment, Sloan used \u00a33 foundation to cover her tattoos. The transformation stunned her two youngest sons\u2014but not in the way she expected. \u201cThey said, \u2018Go back to your craziness, mum,\u2019\u201d she said. \u201cIt was like they were looking at a stranger.\u201d<\/p>\n
Her five older children, with whom she has no contact, reportedly disapprove of her appearance. While some viewers praised her bare-faced look, Sloan insists she doesn\u2019t regret her tattoos, despite being mocked and called a \u201cfreak\u201d or \u201csmurf\u201d online.<\/p>\n
The tattoos, she says, represent freedom and self-expression. \u201cI like to be me, and I\u2019m always going to be myself,\u201d she stated, adding that she teaches her children that beauty comes in many forms.<\/p>\n
