Grammy-winning rapper Prakazrel \u201cPras\u201d Michel<\/strong>, best known as a founding member of the Fugees, was sentenced to 14 years in federal prison<\/strong> following his conviction on 10 counts, including conspiracy, witness tampering, and acting as an unregistered foreign agent. During the trial, evidence surfaced of Michel tampering with witnesses and giving false testimony.<\/p>\n

The trial featured high-profile testimony: actor Leonardo DiCaprio<\/strong>, whose film The Wolf of Wall Street<\/em> was partially financed by Jho Low, and former U.S. Attorney General Jeff Sessions<\/strong>, among others, took the stand. \u00a0Federal prosecutors pushed for a life sentence<\/strong>, arguing Michel\u2019s actions represented a serious threat to U.S. democracy by allowing a foreign financier to secretly influence elections.<\/p>\n
