The sun was warm, but I felt cold as I stepped out of the car. Jacob stood by the school doors, his teacher beside him, her smile forced. Jacob didn\u2019t look at me when he got in the car, his silence thick with unease.<\/p>\n

Ms. Emily pulled me aside. \u201cJacob had some challenges today\u2014struggled with the material and had a few incidents with other students.\u201d<\/p>\n

I tried to brush it off, but something felt off. In the car, Jacob whispered, \u201cIt was scary. No one talked to me.\u201d My heart ached. \u201cI wish we could go back,\u201d he added. \u201cI miss my old friends.\u201d<\/p>\n

The next day, I got a call: \u201cJacob\u2019s involved in a serious incident. You need to come immediately.\u201d I rushed to school, only to be stopped by Mark, my ex. \u201cI\u2019m seeing someone who works here,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

Inside, the principal accused Jacob of altering a test, but Jacob suddenly burst out, \u201cShe told me to do it!\u201d Emily snapped at him. I stood up. \u201cDon\u2019t talk to my son like that.\u201d<\/p>\n

Mark entered, confused. \u201cEmily?\u201d I asked. \u201cShe\u2019s your girlfriend, isn\u2019t she?\u201d<\/p>\n

The truth came out, and the principal dismissed Emily immediately. I hugged Jacob tightly. \u201cI\u2019ll always believe you.\u201d<\/p>\n
