Cory Booker (D-NJ) appeared on MSNBC\u2019s <em data-start=\"98\" data-end=\"112\">The Briefing<\/em> Thursday, defiantly responding to recent attacks by President Donald Trump. Speaking with host Jen Psaki, Booker made it clear that threats \u2014 including the possibility of jail \u2014 won\u2019t silence him. Psaki asked how Booker responds to Trump\u2019s attacks and what message he has for whistleblowers or others afraid to speak out.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"436\" data-end=\"857\">\u201cStand up and fight,\u201d Booker said. \u201cI\u2019m going to continue to fight. I don\u2019t care if this president calls me out every day, mean tweets me, threatens me.\u201d He pointed to what he sees as a broader campaign of intimidation, citing the arrests of local Newark officials, including his own congresswoman, LaMonica McIver. \u201cThrow me in jail. Do what you have to do. I\u2019m going to continue to stand up for what\u2019s right,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"859\" data-end=\"1089\">Booker\u2019s call to action was aimed at inspiring others: \u201cI\u2019m hoping that when one person stands up and calls this out, it ignites the courage of another\u2026 We\u2019ve got to have more people willing to stand up and fight and take him on.\u201d<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1091\" data-end=\"1401\">Rep. McIver, who represents New Jersey\u2019s 10th Congressional District, is facing felony charges after allegedly assaulting ICE agents. She has denied wrongdoing, calling the charges \u201cpurely political\u201d and racially motivated.
