Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard stated Sunday that whistleblowers have started coming forward following the release of documents and a memo exposing what she described as the Obama administration\u2019s efforts to undermine President Donald Trump after his 2016 election victory.<\/p>\n
On Friday, Gabbard released a collection of documents and a memo outlining what she called a \u201cyears-long coup\u201d aimed at destabilizing Trump\u2019s presidency after his defeat of Hillary Clinton. She said the whistleblowers were individuals \u201cdisgusted\u201d by what they saw as a \u201ctreasonous conspiracy\u201d allegedly orchestrated by then-President Barack Obama in response to Clinton\u2019s loss.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe have whistleblowers \u2026 coming forward now, after we released these documents because there are people who were around, who were working within the intelligence community who are so disgusted by what happened,\u201d Gabbard told \u201cSunday Morning Futures\u201d host Maria Bartiromo. She added that these individuals want to see justice delivered.<\/p>\n
Gabbard emphasized the importance of holding those responsible accountable, stating that all evidence would be provided to the Department of Justice. She said, \u201cThere must be indictments. Those responsible, no matter how powerful they are, must be held accountable.\u201d<\/p>\n
She also referenced the 2020 guilty plea of former FBI attorney Kevin Clinesmith for falsifying information in a FISA application related to Trump\u2019s campaign, criticizing the light sentence he received. Gabbard described the alleged conspiracy as \u201cvery far-reaching,\u201d accusing involved parties of attempting to undermine democracy and override the will of the American people.<\/p>\n
