Citing recent polls from The Wall Street Journal and CNN, Enten revealed that Democrats are experiencing historic lows in net favorable ratings, with records dating back to the early 1990s.<\/p>\n
Enten began by highlighting the CNN poll, noting that Democrats were \u201c26 points underwater\u201d in net favorability. He then turned to the Wall Street Journal data, which showed an even worse rating: \u201cminus 30 points, 30 points underwater,\u201d marking the lowest point on record for the party in that survey.<\/p>\n
\u201cThese polls have records going all the way back since the early 1990s,\u201d Enten explained. \u201cWhen it comes to the Democratic Party\u2019s net favorable rating in both the Wall Street Journal poll and the CNN poll, the Democratic Party is breaking records in a way, Jessica Dean, you don\u2019t want to break records.\u201d<\/p>\n
He also focused on the party\u2019s standing among self-identified independents, a key voting bloc. According to CNN\u2019s SSRS poll, Democrats\u2019 favorable rating among independents stands at just 19 percent. \u201cIf I can count it, you know, it\u2019s low and it is extremely low when it comes to independents and the Democratic Party,\u201d Enten said.<\/p>\n
He added that independents generally dislike all parties, which makes the upcoming election particularly interesting: \u201cWhen it comes to independent voters, the bloc, a group that actually decides elections, they hate everybody.\u201d<\/p>\n
