Senator Adam Schiff (D-CA) is currently under intense scrutiny following comments made by Fox News host and U.S. Attorney for the District of Columbia, Jeanine Pirro. Speaking on Benny Johnson’s podcast, Pirro confirmed that she has launched an investigation into Schiff’s conduct during his time in office, particularly focusing on the possible leaking of classified information related to Russia.
Pirro emphasized her legal background and expertise in handling such matters, noting that she avoids discussing open investigations publicly. However, she hinted that substantial evidence may soon emerge. Her firm tone suggested that this is a serious and active case, although she declined to reveal further specifics at this stage.
In addition to the leak investigation, Schiff faces another legal issue—allegations of mortgage fraud. Fox News reported that a former Trump administration official accused Schiff of falsifying documents to secure better loan terms, a violation similar to accusations previously directed at former President Donald Trump by New York Attorney General Letitia James.
Adding complexity to the situation, Letitia James herself is reportedly under investigation for the same alleged offense. The Federal Housing Finance Agency has flagged concerns that such practices undermine trust in the nation’s mortgage system and require closer scrutiny.
Further pressure comes from within Schiff’s own party. A Democratic whistleblower, described as a professional intelligence officer, has accused Schiff of authorizing the leak of classified information to discredit then-President Trump during the height of the Russiagate probe in 2017. Despite repeated attempts to alert the FBI, no action was taken at the time.
Now, under the leadership of FBI Director Kash Patel, the case is being reviewed. As the controversy grows, Trump has renewed his calls for Schiff to be held accountable, arguing that the senator must finally face consequences for his actions.
