Just days after Melania Trump threatened Hunter Biden with a $1 billion defamation lawsuit, an old interview has resurfaced that appears to back her version of how she met Donald Trump. The former first lady is responding to Hunter Biden’s public claim that she was introduced to Donald Trump by Jeffrey Epstein—an allegation she and her legal team vehemently deny.
The interview in question features Melania and Donald Trump speaking with CNN’s Larry King shortly after their 2005 wedding. During the interview, Melania stated they met in September 1998 during New York Fashion Week. When asked if anyone introduced them, she clarified they met organically at a party, not through anyone else.
Donald Trump also shared details of their meeting, saying he was initially supposed to meet another woman at the party but was instantly drawn to Melania instead. The interview predates Epstein’s 2007 arrest, lending credibility to Melania’s timeline and casting doubt on Hunter Biden’s claim.

Despite mounting evidence, Hunter Biden has stood by his statement. When asked by vlogger Andrew Callaghan if he would apologize to Melania, he bluntly replied, “F**k that. That’s not gonna happen,” dismissing the lawsuit as a joke.
Melania’s attorney, Alejandro Brito, has formally demanded that Hunter issue a public apology and retraction. In the letter, Brito stated that failing to comply would force Melania to pursue legal action to recover the reputational and financial damage she has suffered.
This is not the first time Melania has threatened legal action over similar claims. Earlier this month, the Daily Beast retracted an article linking her to Epstein after receiving a legal warning from her lawyer. As the controversy unfolds, Melania appears determined to defend her name and take legal steps if necessary.
