A paper plane from my grandson uncovered my DIL’s secret and got me banned from seeing him

After losing my husband, living alone at 71 felt unbearable. The only light in my life was my grandson, Timmy. Spending time with him gave me purpose and helped ease my grief. But everything changed again when my daughter-in-law suddenly cut me off from his life, leaving me heartbroken and confused.

One day, when I tried to visit, she shouted, “Margaret, you are no longer welcome. Timmy doesn’t want you either.” Crushed, I turned to leave—until I heard Timmy’s voice from a window. He tossed down a paper airplane with a handwritten note that sent chills down my spine: “Grandma, please help me. I’m not safe. Don’t tell mom and dad.”

That night, I couldn’t sleep. Worry overwhelmed me. I returned to the house late, entering through the broken gate my husband had once tried to repair. Timmy quietly confided in me that his parents were constantly fighting, and a strange man visited often. He was scared and didn’t know what to do.

Desperate to help, I turned to Billy, a retired police officer and close friend of my late husband. Using his contacts, Billy discovered that my son was under investigation for drug-related crimes and that my daughter-in-law was involved with dangerous individuals.

I immediately contacted social services. After an investigation, authorities found evidence of drug abuse and domestic violence. Timmy had witnessed it all. He was removed from the home, and I was granted temporary custody while the case proceeded. My son and his wife were later imprisoned for their actions.

Raising a child at my age is difficult, but I wouldn’t trade it for anything. Timmy’s safety and happiness are now my priority. He gave me hope when I had none—and now, it’s my turn to give him the safe, loving home he deserves.
