Giuliani Recovering After ‘Serious’ Vehicle Accident: Reports

Former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani is recovering in a hospital following a serious car accident on a New Hampshire highway. The 81-year-old sustained a fractured vertebra and cuts to his arm and leg when a vehicle rear-ended his rental car. His spokesman, Michael Ragusa, stated that Giuliani had just finished helping a domestic violence victim and had re-entered his car moments before the crash occurred.

The incident happened on I-93 in Manchester, New Hampshire. The driver who struck Giuliani’s vehicle has been identified as 19-year-old Lauren Kemp of Concord, who was operating a Honda HR-V. Police said both her vehicle and Giuliani’s Ford Bronco were heavily damaged after being pushed into the median. First responders who were already nearby due to an unrelated call quickly assisted the scene.

Giuliani is reportedly in good spirits despite his injuries. Ragusa praised his resilience, stating, “He’s a beast. He survived 9/11.” Giuliani’s son, Andrew, also expressed gratitude for public support, calling his father “the toughest SOB I’ve ever seen.” Conservative voices like Benny Johnson also urged followers to pray for “America’s Mayor.”

Police have identified the driver who struck Giuliani, the UK’s Independent reported.

Once a celebrated mayor during 9/11, Giuliani’s more recent years have been marked by controversy. He served as Donald Trump’s personal attorney and led efforts to dispute the 2020 election results, which led to multiple legal and professional consequences, including being disbarred in New York by 2024.

In January, Giuliani settled a defamation lawsuit with two Georgia election workers, Ruby Freeman and Shaye Moss, who were falsely accused of voter fraud. A jury awarded them $148 million, though Giuliani has vowed to appeal the decision, criticizing the trial as unfair and politically motivated.

Financially, Giuliani recently listed his Upper East Side apartment for $4.95 million, possibly to cover legal expenses. He maintains confidence that future appeals will overturn recent rulings against him.
