FBI Investigates Left-Wing Groups for Possible Ties to Charlie Kirk Assassination
The FBI has launched an investigation into several left-wing groups in Utah to determine whether any had prior knowledge of Charlie Kirk’s assassination, according to a report by Axios. The probe is part of a broader federal effort to understand potential political motivations and affiliations behind the fatal shooting that has sparked national attention.
Tyler Robinson, the 22-year-old suspected gunman, had reportedly been living with a transgender partner before the attack. This detail was first reported by Fox News and later confirmed by multiple outlets. Public records show that 22-year-old Lance Twiggs shared an address with Robinson in St. George, Utah, and a relative confirmed the two were roommates.
According to six sources familiar with the case, Axios reports that Robinson may have viewed Kirk’s public stance on transgender issues as “hateful” toward Twiggs. Investigators believe that Robinson’s anger over those views could play a key role in establishing a motive behind what authorities are treating as a politically motivated assassination.
A family member described Twiggs as the “black sheep” of the family, stating uncertainty about Twiggs’ political views or gender identity, though they would not be surprised by either. Neighbors reported seeing Twiggs and Robinson kissing and holding hands, while others mentioned unfamiliar out-of-state visitors frequenting the residence in recent weeks.
Sources told Axios that authorities initially withheld Twiggs’ gender identity due to Twiggs’ “extremely cooperative” behavior with law enforcement. The FBI continues to explore possible connections between Robinson and radical political organizations.
