Tyler Robinson, the 22-year-old suspect accused of assassinating conservative activist Charlie Kirk, was reportedly living with a transgender roommate who is now cooperating with the FBI’s investigation. Public records identify the roommate as Lance Twiggs, also 22, with whom Robinson shared an apartment in St. George, Utah. A family member confirmed their cohabitation but declined to clarify the nature of their relationship, only noting Twiggs was considered the “black sheep” of the family.
The apartment the two shared now appears vacant. A neighbor reported seeing unfamiliar cars with out-of-state plates and described an unsettling atmosphere in the weeks prior to the shooting. Law enforcement sources confirmed Twiggs is assisting the investigation, particularly by providing digital communications that linked Robinson to the crime.
Charlie Kirk was fatally shot in the neck during a Turning Point USA event at Utah Valley University. The attack occurred moments after Kirk responded to a student’s question about transgender mass shooters. The gunman fired from 200 yards away using a high-powered Mauser rifle, later found wrapped in a towel in a wooded area.

Investigators recovered bullet casings at the scene with messages like “Hey fascist!” and “Catch!” Forensic analysis and digital evidence from Discord chats reportedly showed Robinson discussing retrieving the rifle from a “drop point,” switching outfits, and observing the area where the weapon was hidden.
According to Governor Spencer Cox, Robinson, who was raised in a conservative Mormon household, had become increasingly immersed in far-left ideologies in recent years. Cox told The Wall Street Journal that investigators believe political extremism may have played a role in the killing.
Robinson has been charged with aggravated murder, making him eligible for the death penalty. The investigation remains ongoing, with authorities continuing to analyze forensic evidence and digital communications tied to the shooting.
