Trump’s ‘impeachable offense’ sparks fury: ‘Most corrupt thing I’ve seen from a president’

Former President Donald Trump stirred major controversy over the weekend by posting a sharply critical open letter to Attorney General Pam Bondi on his social media platform, Truth Social. In the message, he vented frustration over what he views as a lack of accountability for political opponents, referencing figures like James Comey, Adam Schiff, and Letitia James. Trump expressed disappointment that no legal action has been taken against them, despite what he called clear wrongdoing.

Trump also criticized a former U.S. attorney who allegedly resigned, but whom Trump claims he actually fired. He accused the attorney of being a “woke RINO” and claimed the individual had misrepresented the strength of a case that Trump insists is substantial. The post was laced with political grievances and implied pressure on Bondi to take more aggressive action.

Observers quickly reacted online. Legal and political figures condemned the post as deeply inappropriate, with many suggesting it amounted to an abuse of power. Former prosecutor Ron Filipkowski labeled the message a “blatantly impeachable offense,” while others called it a threat to the integrity of the Justice Department.

Yashar Ali of HuffPost pointed out that Trump appeared to be responding to a compiled list of online criticisms targeting Bondi’s performance. He noted Trump’s references to reviewing “over 30 posts” and interpreted the message as an attempt to push Bondi into taking legal action aligned with political motivations.

Legal experts, including constitutional law professor Anthony Michael Kreis, warned that Trump’s public directive to prosecute perceived enemies undermines the rule of law. Others voiced concern about the growing pressure on conservative legal professionals to maintain ethical boundaries in an increasingly politicized environment.

Although the original post has since been deleted, its impact continues to ripple through legal, political, and media circles, raising fresh concerns about presidential influence over justice.
