Elon Musk and Donald Trump appeared to reconcile during the memorial service for conservative activist Charlie Kirk, held at State Farm Stadium in Glendale, Arizona. The event drew thousands of attendees who came to honor Kirk, a prominent figure known for his work with the organization Turning Point USA. Kirk tragically lost his life after being shot at a university event on September 10.

Despite recent tensions between Musk and Trump, the two were seen in friendly conversation during the memorial on September 21. A photo of them talking circulated widely, prompting public interest in their renewed interaction. Musk later posted the image on his social media platform, X, captioning it with the simple phrase, “For Charlie,” which appeared to explain the reason behind their moment of unity.

Following the memorial, Trump also addressed the situation with Musk.

In addition to his post, Musk reshared a message about Erika Kirk, who publicly forgave the suspect involved in her husband’s death. Her statement referenced her Christian faith and what she believed Kirk himself would have wanted. Musk echoed this sentiment by quoting a well-known biblical phrase emphasizing forgiveness.

Trump also spoke briefly about Musk’s presence, telling the press that he appreciated Musk coming over to say hello. He noted their past working relationship and described the exchange as cordial, despite their earlier disagreements. The moment suggested a softening of tensions between the two high-profile figures.

Their recent conflict reportedly stemmed from differing views on government policy and fiscal matters. Musk had previously raised concerns about the potential financial impact of a major bill supported by Trump, while Trump criticized Musk in return. These disputes had strained their relationship earlier in the year.

However, their interaction at the memorial indicates a potential shift. In honoring Kirk, both appeared willing to set aside past differences, showing a unified front in remembrance of a shared ally in the conservative movement.
