FBI Refutes Tucker Carlson’s Claims About Trump Assassination Attempt
The FBI has rejected Tucker Carlson’s claim that it lied about Thomas Crooks, the 20-year-old who attempted to assassinate former President Donald Trump in July 2024. Carlson alleged the bureau falsely said Crooks had “no online footprint,” citing multiple digital accounts he claims belonged to the gunman. The FBI Rapid Response account clarified, “This FBI has never said Thomas Crooks had no online footprint. Ever.”
The attack left one person dead, two injured, and exposed major Secret Service security failures, leading to Director Kimberly Cheatle’s resignation. Carlson posted video clips and purported online activity of Crooks, arguing it contradicted earlier statements. The FBI emphasized that leadership and communication have changed since the Biden administration and disputed Carlson’s interpretation.
