Police were first called to Phil’s Foodway near 30th Street and Ames Avenue shortly after noon on Wednesday after a man was shot multiple times in the chest in what authorities described as a seemingly unprovoked attack. The victim, identified as a man in his 60s, was seriously wounded but later survived his injuries, which were not believed to be life-threatening.
