Trump Revokes Security Clearances for Krebs and Taylor, Orders Investigations
Former President Donald Trump has revoked the security clearances of ex-CISA Director Chris Krebs and former DHS official Miles Taylor, while ordering investigations into their actions during his administration.
In a Presidential Memorandum, Trump instructed federal agencies to remove any active clearances held by Krebs and suspend those linked to him, including individuals at cybersecurity firm SentinelOne. The DOJ was also directed to probe Krebs for alleged misuse of his role, particularly related to election integrity and COVID-19 messaging.
Krebs drew Trump’s ire after he rejected claims of election fraud in 2020, calling it “the most secure in American history.” Trump later fired him, labeling him a “fraud.”
Taylor, who had spoken openly about opposing Trump from within the administration, is also under investigation. The order includes reviewing security clearances tied to the University of Pennsylvania, where he now teaches.
