A paper plane from my grandson uncovered my DIL’s secret and got me banned from seeing him

After losing her husband, 71-year-old Margaret found comfort in her bond with her grandson, Timmy.

But her world was shaken again when her daughter-in-law suddenly cut off contact, claiming Timmy didn’t want her around. As Margaret was leaving, Timmy secretly tossed her a paper plane from his window, pleading for help and warning he wasn’t safe.

Deeply alarmed, Margaret returned later that night and learned Timmy was living in fear due to constant parental fighting and the presence of a suspicious man. With help from Billy, a retired cop and family friend, Margaret discovered her son and daughter-in-law were entangled in drugs and criminal activity.

Margaret alerted social services, who confirmed Timmy had been exposed to abuse and drug use. He was removed from the home, and Margaret was granted temporary custody. Her son and daughter-in-law were later imprisoned.

Now raising Timmy herself, Margaret is determined to give him a safer, brighter future—no matter the challenges her age may bring.
