Vice President JD Vance addressed recent speculation surrounding Elon Musk’s role in the Trump administration, clarifying that Musk’s tenure as a special advisor to the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) was always meant to be temporary. Musk committed to a six-month term, which ends in late May or early June, and his departure is not a sign of conflict or dismissal. Vance emphasized that Musk will remain involved informally, continuing to advise on issues related to technology, innovation, and federal reform. Under Musk’s guidance, DOGE reportedly uncovered fraudulent federal grant programs and inefficiencies in Social Security, saving taxpayers millions. Vance dismissed activist backlash and vandalism targeting Musk’s businesses as ideologically driven.
