Donald Trump Signs Proclamation to Ban Travel from 12 Countries – Details

On June 4, 2025, President Donald Trump signed a sweeping proclamation intensifying U.S. immigration policy by restricting travel from nearly 20 countries. The decision, framed as a response to heightened national security concerns and non-compliance with U.S. immigration standards, marks one of the most extensive travel bans enacted during Trump’s political career.

The proclamation enforces a full entry ban for nationals from twelve countries: Afghanistan, Myanmar, Chad, Congo, Equatorial Guinea, Eritrea, Haiti, Iran, Libya, Somalia, Sudan, and Yemen. In addition, partial restrictions have been imposed on citizens from seven other nations, including Burundi, Cuba, Laos, Sierra Leone, Togo, Turkmenistan, and Venezuela.
