Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard has pledged to release more evidence supporting her recent declassification of documents that suggest former President Barack Obama’s administration orchestrated the Trump-Russia collusion investigation following Donald Trump’s 2016 victory. According to Gabbard, the newly revealed materials expose a deliberate effort to mislead both the public and government officials.
In an interview with Fox News’ Maria Bartiromo, Gabbard stated that the information had been intentionally concealed to prevent action by those in positions of oversight. She emphasized the need for transparency and justice, arguing that such deceptive efforts threaten the foundations of American democracy. Gabbard warned that unless those responsible are held accountable, trust in democratic institutions could be permanently damaged.
Gabbard stressed that accountability through prosecutions and indictments is critical to preserving the republic. She described the conduct of Obama-era officials as an attempt to “steal our democracy” and insisted that exposing the full extent of the operation is vital to ensure it never happens again.
She also questioned how special counsels Robert Mueller and John Durham could have missed key evidence during their investigations into Russian interference and misconduct by U.S. officials. Gabbard suggested the oversight was not accidental but a deliberate attempt to cover up a “seditious conspiracy” against President Trump.
One significant finding from Gabbard’s team includes a September 2016 intelligence assessment, which concluded that foreign adversaries did not—and likely could not—carry out widespread, undetectable cyberattacks on U.S. election systems, contradicting the justification for the original Trump-Russia probe.
