Former Harvard Law professor Alan Dershowitz revealed on Sunday that two high-profile Democratic officials—former Senator George Mitchell and the late Bill Richardson—are among those named in documents related to Jeffrey Epstein. In an interview with Fox News’ Shannon Bream, Dershowitz emphasized there is no official “client list,” but said key names can be found in sealed FBI reports and court documents.
Dershowitz, who represented Epstein in his 2008 plea deal, stated that sealed interviews with alleged victims contain redacted names of powerful individuals. He added that while these names surfaced during his investigation, there is no conclusive evidence of wrongdoing without further verification.
In addition to Mitchell and Richardson, Dershowitz mentioned former Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Barak as someone who had been accused. He cautioned, however, that false accusations are common in high-profile cases and stressed the importance of distinguishing between credible claims and fabrications.
Dershowitz himself was previously accused by Virginia Giuffre of sexual misconduct tied to Epstein. He denied the allegations and filed a defamation lawsuit. Giuffre dropped the case in 2022, stating she “may have made a mistake.” Dershowitz also cited another accuser, Sarah Ransome, who admitted to fabricating claims involving several prominent figures, including Bill Clinton and Donald Trump.
Trump recently responded to growing public pressure by directing the Justice Department to seek court approval for releasing grand jury testimony related to Epstein. He acknowledged that even full disclosure might not satisfy critics demanding more transparency.
The controversy underscores ongoing public frustration over the lack of accountability in the Epstein case and the sealed nature of many associated court documents.
