Paralyzed Dog Abandoned with a Bag of Diapers Finds Love Before Her Final Goodbye

Many people shy away from caring for disabled pets, which often leads to their abandonment. This was the unfortunate fate of Lunetta, a paralyzed dog left chained to a railing in Salta, Argentina. Strapped to a rusty wheelchair with no food or water, Lunetta was in heartbreaking condition when discovered by a staff member from a local dog care center.

Next to her was a small bag of diapers and a note bearing her name, age, and the painful reason for her abandonment—her previous owners could no longer care for her. Upon learning of her situation, rescue group Luba Salta quickly responded, and two volunteers rushed to check on her and ensure she was brought to safety.

After being placed in a foster home, Lunetta’s story was shared on Facebook in hopes of finding someone willing to adopt a paralyzed dog. She soon received interest from an American family who seemed eager to take her in. Unfortunately, they were unprepared for the care she required, and Lunetta developed a serious staph infection due to neglect.

Just when her future seemed bleak, another American family stepped in and provided the proper medical attention and love she needed. Thanks to them, Lunetta recovered and finally experienced the joy of a real home. Equipped with a custom wheelchair and a dog sister to play with, she lived a full, happy life filled with snowy adventures and warm family moments.

Sadly, after turning eleven, Lunetta fell ill and was admitted to intensive care. Despite her brave fight, she passed away surrounded by her loved ones. Her adoptive mother wrote a heartfelt tribute, expressing how deeply Lunetta had touched her life.

Lunetta’s final year was filled with love, care, and dignity—everything she had always deserved. Her journey reminds us that all animals, regardless of their condition, deserve compassion and a chance at happiness
