FBI Director Kash Patel highlighted the bureau’s achievements during the first 200 days of President Donald Trump’s second term, citing major crackdowns on crime and drug trafficking. In a social media post on Saturday, Patel announced that the FBI had arrested over 1,600 individuals for violent crimes against children, including 270 related to human trafficking. He also noted the seizure of 1,500 kilos of fentanyl—enough to kill more than 113 million people—representing a 25% increase over the same period last year.
Patel further reported that the FBI had identified and located 4,000 child victims and made 1,000 arrests tied to foreign terrorist threats. The agency also seized 6,300 kilos of methamphetamines. Patel credited new authorities granted under Trump’s administration for the increased enforcement capabilities and ended his post with the hashtag “#SummerHeat,” signaling ongoing operations.
The White House also marked the milestone with a post titled “200 Days of American Renewal,” highlighting the administration’s achievements in border security, infrastructure, and law enforcement. Deputy FBI Director Dan Bongino, who reportedly considered resigning earlier over the administration’s handling of the Epstein files, reposted Patel’s update and hinted that more actions are forthcoming.
Despite the momentum, some Trump supporters continue to express frustration over the lack of disclosure related to the Epstein client list. The Justice Department has denied the existence of such a list. President Trump recently defended Attorney General Pam Bondi, stating she had done “a very good job” handling the matter.
Separately, Sen. John Cornyn requested the FBI’s assistance in locating Texas Democrats who fled the state to block a vote on redistricting. Patel approved the request, and Trump voiced support, stating the lawmakers must return and “fight.” However, Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton opposed the move, arguing that the issue falls strictly under state jurisdiction and does not require federal involvement.
