Vice President JD Vance stated that “a lot of people” are likely to face indictment over the Obama administration’s alleged misconduct in the so-called Russiagate scandal. Speaking on Fox News Sunday, Vance refrained from naming individuals but cited recent revelations from Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard as “conclusive evidence” of significant legal violations.
In response to host Maria Bartiromo’s question about the potential for indictments, Vance said, “You indict people because they broke the law… I don’t know how anybody can look at what Tulsi and Kash Patel have revealed and say there weren’t aggressive violations.” He accused Obama-era officials of using Hillary Clinton’s campaign talking points to influence intelligence narratives, calling it a “violation of the people’s trust.”
According to Vance, officials exaggerated intelligence that supported Clinton and buried information that contradicted her campaign’s narrative. He claimed this manipulation effectively “laundered” political propaganda through the U.S. intelligence community, undermining public trust. “You’re going to see a lot of people get indicted for that,” Vance warned.
Gabbard recently released declassified documents, including a 2020 House Intelligence Committee report that found insufficient evidence Russia backed Donald Trump in 2016. She also disclosed material suggesting Russia did not hack U.S. voting systems in a way that affected the election outcome.
Following the disclosures, Attorney General Pam Bondi launched a Justice Department “strike force” and sought a grand jury to investigate Obama-era officials. Former CIA Director John Brennan and former DNI James Clapper denied wrongdoing, and a spokesperson for Barack Obama dismissed the allegations as a “weak attempt at distraction.”
