Trouble is mounting for Rep. Jasmine Crockett (D-TX), a member of the progressive “Squad,” following reports of internal dysfunction and poor treatment of staff. Days after ejecting a journalist from her office, Crockett now faces allegations from current and former aides who describe her as a toxic, disengaged boss more focused on viral moments than legislative work.
“She is laying around her apartment, won’t come into the office, and is really just indifferent to staff and will scream at them,” a former aide told the New York Post. Another source close to Crockett added, “It is widely known that she’s not nice to staff and is just not a really dedicated member focused on constituents.”
Multiple insiders say Crockett spends little time on Capitol Hill and prioritizes social media clout over policy. “She is focused almost exclusively on being an influencer, not a member of Congress,” one source said, describing her as “all diva, no wow.”
When Crockett does attend hearings, staffers claim she demands luxury transportation. According to reports, she regularly rents a Cadillac Escalade and waits inside until staffers open the door for her. “You’re technically allowed to do this, but it’s wildly inefficient,” one source noted. “She expects her staff to drive her around while she’s in the back seat,” calling it a “power play.”
Crockett, a former criminal defense attorney elected in 2020, rose to fame through viral clips of fiery exchanges with Republicans—often marked by combative and crude language. Critics now question her commitment to public service.
