House Judiciary Committee Chairman Jim Jordan weighed in on the FBI’s early morning raid on the home of former Trump National Security Adviser John Bolton, calling it part of a broader effort to bring long-overdue accountability. Speaking Friday, Jordan argued that several high-profile figures—including Bolton, former FBI Director James Comey, Rep. Adam Schiff (D-Calif.), former DNI James Clapper, and former CIA Director John Brennan—had played roles in efforts to undermine former President Donald Trump.
Jordan contrasted the low-profile nature of Bolton’s raid with the highly publicized 2022 FBI raid on Trump’s Mar-a-Lago estate. “The press wasn’t there… it wasn’t the big scene that it was three years ago,” he said. He emphasized that the major takeaway is the information revealed over the past month.
“We learned that Jim Comey and his chief of staff were leaking classified information. A whistleblower came forward saying Adam Schiff leaked classified info. Tulsi Gabbard shared that intel officials changed an intelligence assessment between Election Day 2016 and Trump’s inauguration—at the urging of Brennan and Clapper,” Jordan stated.
Now, with Bolton allegedly mishandling classified materials, Jordan tied the pattern together: “Comey, Schiff, Clapper, Brennan, Bolton—all worked to sabotage the president.” He suggested that these actions weren’t isolated incidents but part of a coordinated effort to undercut the Trump administration from the beginning.
Calling it “the deep state in action,” Jordan praised current agency leadership for pursuing the facts. “This is not political retribution,” he said. “This is accountability. And it’s exactly what the American people voted for when they elected President Trump.”
