Dana Perino and Tyrus Announce Major Career Moves at Fox News
Fox News has revealed major career developments for two of its notable personalities. Dana Perino, former White House Press Secretary under President George W. Bush and longtime Fox News host, has launched a new podcast titled Perino on Politics. The weekly show, part of Fox News Audio, debuted the same week as the first GOP primary debate and focuses on the 2024 election.
Perino will engage with a range of insiders and experts—strategists, pollsters, and political commentators—to analyze campaign developments and political trends. Early guests included strategist Colin Reed and National Review’s Jim Geraghty. Since joining Fox in 2009, Perino has co-anchored America’s Newsroom with Bill Hemmer and co-hosted The Five, both top-rated shows in their time slots.
Meanwhile, another Fox personality, Tyrus (real name George Murdoch), has announced his retirement from professional wrestling. The former NWA World Heavyweight Champion ended his 15-year wrestling career following a “Tyrus Must Retire” match loss to EC3.
Tyrus said the decision came after talks with his children, who wanted him home more often. “It was all my idea,” he told Slam Wrestling. Alongside his television role on Gutfeld!, Tyrus is planning new books and potential film projects once the writers’ strike concludes.
Both announcements mark significant shifts in their careers. Perino is expanding her role in political commentary through her new podcast, while Tyrus is stepping fully into media and entertainment, closing the chapter on his time in the wrestling ring.
