Deputy Chief of Staff for Policy and Homeland Security Advisor Stephen Miller strongly defended President Donald Trump this week, rejecting recent speculation about the president’s health as baseless and politically motivated. During an interview with Sean Hannity on Fox News, Miller accused Democrats of spreading conspiracy theories and praised Trump’s stamina and visibility in public life.
“President Trump has done more interviews, more press conferences, and more public events than any president in modern history,” Miller said. “He livestreams his cabinet meetings and is constantly available to the press and public.” He emphasized that Trump routinely outworks his White House staff, often calling them early in the morning and late at night about key issues ranging from national security to housing.
The health rumors began circulating online over the Labor Day weekend after Trump had no scheduled public appearances for several days. Hashtags like “#TrumpIsDead” and “#WhereIsTrump” trended on social media platforms, despite Trump being seen at his golf club in Sterling, Virginia. Addressing the rumors directly from the Oval Office, Trump called them “fake news” and said he had spent the weekend working and golfing.
Vice President JD Vance also pushed back on the rumors, calling the president “incredibly healthy” while affirming that he is prepared to assume leadership if necessary. Vance emphasized that there is no cause for concern regarding Trump’s ability to fulfill his duties.
To further quell speculation, the White House released a health memo from Dr. Sean Barbabella, who reported that Trump suffers from chronic venous insufficiency—a common and benign condition—and that bruising on his hand was caused by frequent handshaking and routine aspirin use. The administration maintains that Trump remains fully active and engaged in his presidential responsibilities.
