At around 7 a.m. Thursday morning, police were alerted of active shooting at Corewell Health in Beaumont Troy, located 24 miles north of Detroit.
Authorities issued a shelter-in-place order with the hospital employees barricading themselves inside in the midst of the chaos.
The victim of the shooting, a 25-year-old man, who was wounded twice in the arm, has been treated for the injuries and is in a stable condition. Initial reports say it was an isolated incident during which an employee at the hospital fired shots at a co-worker. It was dubbed a “targeted attack.”
