Kristin Cabot’s husband, Andrew Cabot, has spoken out following news of their divorce after Kristin was caught on camera appearing close with Astronomer CEO Andy Byron at a Coldplay concert in Boston. During the event, Byron and Cabot, who is Astronomer’s Chief People Officer, were seen embracing on the big screen before quickly pulling apart once they noticed the cameras. The moment, highlighted by frontman Chris Martin’s surprised comment, went viral on TikTok and has been viewed hundreds of millions of times.

Despite the public uproar, a spokeswoman for Andrew Cabot told PEOPLE that the couple had been “privately and amicably separated several weeks before the concert,” and that the decision to divorce was already underway before the viral incident. Andrew hopes the public statement will bring respectful closure and allow their family privacy, adding no further comment will be made.

Following the viral video, both Byron and Cabot resigned from their roles at Astronomer. The company’s board accepted Byron’s resignation and appointed cofounder Pete DeJoy as interim CEO.

DeJoy acknowledged the intense media attention was unusual for a startup in the data and AI sector and noted Astronomer had become a household name.
