Barron Trump did not appear for the start of sophomore classes this week at New York University’s Greenwich Village campus, according to reports. The 19-year-old son of President Donald Trump and First Lady Melania Trump was expected to return to the Stern School of Business, but several NYU security officers confirmed he has not been seen on campus.
One officer told People that Barron is “doing a semester at another NYU campus.” While NYU has locations in Brooklyn, Abu Dhabi, Shanghai, Los Angeles, and Washington, D.C., Page Six reported that Barron is now based at the university’s D.C. program. That campus hosts a select group of students each semester, focusing on public policy, journalism, history, and politics — subjects aligning with the Trump family’s interests.
Barron is reportedly living at the White House, staying close to both parents during President Trump’s second term. During his freshman year, he commuted from Trump Tower to NYU’s Manhattan campus and frequently visited Mar-a-Lago. Though not attending classes in person this fall, Barron remains in touch with classmates through Xbox and Discord — platforms widely used by students.
Sources say Barron avoids giving out his phone number due to security risks and prefers using gamer tags instead. “It’s gamer bro culture,” one insider said, adding that he mostly communicates with people he already knows well.
The campus shift comes as Melania Trump takes on a more active role in the administration, pushing for initiatives in technology education, anti-revenge porn legislation, and stronger U.S. action against Russia’s aggression in Ukraine.
