Erika Kirk Shares Bible Verses Before Husband Charlie Kirk’s Fatal Shooting
Just hours before conservative activist Charlie Kirk was fatally shot at Utah Valley University on Wednesday, his wife Erika Kirk posted what many are now calling an ominous message. On social media, she shared two Bible verses: “Psalm 46:1 – God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble,” and “Psalm 34:8 – Oh, taste and see that the Lord is good! Blessed is the man who takes refuge in him!”
Charlie Kirk, 31, was struck in the throat by a single bullet around 12:20 p.m. while speaking at a public event. Video footage captured the moment of the attack, showing panic as attendees screamed and fled. The FBI later confirmed that the fatal shot was fired from a rooftop approximately 200 yards away, describing the incident as a “targeted attack.”
Federal agents are working alongside local and state authorities. A high-powered bolt-action rifle believed to have been used in the shooting was recovered in a nearby wooded area. Investigators say the suspect appears to be of college age and fled into a neighboring residential area after the attack.
Tributes poured in across the political spectrum. President Donald Trump called Kirk’s murder “the tragic consequence of demonizing political opponents,” while Vice President J.D. Vance and Utah Senator Mike Lee asked Americans to pray for Kirk and his family. California Governor Gavin Newsom also condemned the violence.
Kirk, a husband and father of two, founded Turning Point USA when he was just 18 years old. He became a prominent figure in the conservative youth movement and played a significant role in boosting young voter support for Donald Trump in recent elections.
