Bill Ackman Pledges $1 Million Reward in Charlie Kirk Assassination Case
Billionaire Bill Ackman has pledged $1 million towards the reward for information leading to the capture of the person responsible for the assassination of conservative activist Charlie Kirk. The 31-year-old was fatally shot on September 10 while speaking at a Turning Point USA event at Utah Valley University in Orem.
The FBI initially offered a $100,000 reward for information leading to the arrest of Kirk’s killer. This amount was later increased by $25,000 from President Trump’s advisor Alex Bruesewitz and matched by conservative activist Robby Starbuck. Ackman’s pledge brought the total reward to $1.15 million.
Ackman addressed concerns on Twitter about whether the suspect’s family—specifically the father of 22-year-old suspect Tyler Robinson—could claim the reward for turning in Robinson. He explained that rewards must be paid to be effective, even if the recipient’s motives are questionable. However, if the family is found to have been involved or negligent, legal action would prevent them from collecting any reward.
Ackman also mentioned reports that Robinson’s family intends to waive their right to any reward. He promised that the reward will be paid to whoever provided the information that led to Robinson’s arrest, as confirmed by the FBI.
An earlier police report stated it was a family friend, not Robinson’s father, who alerted authorities after Robinson confessed or implied involvement. The investigation and reward efforts continue amid widespread attention.
