Turning Point USA Sees Surge in Interest After Charlie Kirk’s Assassination
Following the assassination of Turning Point USA (TPUSA) founder Charlie Kirk, the conservative student organization has seen a dramatic surge in support. Andrew Kolvet, executive producer of The Charlie Kirk Show, reported that over 32,000 people have inquired about launching new chapters within just 48 hours. TPUSA currently operates 900 college and 1,200 high school chapters across the country.
Kolvet described the response as “truly incredible,” saying Kirk’s dream of having a chapter in every American high school may now be realized sooner than expected. Kirk, 31, was killed during an outdoor event at Utah Valley University last week — the first stop of his planned “American Comeback Tour.”
His widow, Erika Kirk, has vowed to continue his mission. In an emotional address Friday evening, she said, “The movement my husband built will not die… It will become stronger, bolder, louder, and greater than ever.” TPUSA also confirmed that its flagship AmericaFest conference in December will proceed as scheduled.
A public celebration of Kirk’s life is set for next Sunday at State Farm Stadium in Arizona, with President Donald Trump expected to attend. Kirk’s influence among young conservatives was significant, particularly on college campuses where he encouraged open political debate.
Kirk’s death has sparked renewed debate over political rhetoric. While Republicans blame Democrats for escalating hostility, Senator John Fetterman (D-PA) has urged his party to tone down extreme comparisons. He warned against labeling political opponents as “Hitler” or “autocrats,” calling for a return to civil discourse. Many now believe TPUSA is entering a new era — one shaped by both grief and renewed purpose.
