Newly released surveillance footage appears to show Tyler Robinson, the man accused of assassinating Charlie Kirk, walking toward Utah Valley University hours before the fatal shooting.
The video, obtained by TMZ, captures a man matching Robinson’s description wearing a maroon T-shirt, light shorts, sunglasses, a baseball cap, and sneakers. Authorities confirmed that the suspect was wearing these clothes when he arrived at the event where Kirk, 31, was fatally shot in the neck before a crowd of thousands.
Recorded at 8:07 a.m. Wednesday in a residential neighborhood near the campus, the footage shows the suspect walking calmly toward the university. Officials said Robinson arrived on campus around 8:30 a.m., driving a gray Dodge Challenger.
This marks the first known footage of the suspect prior to the shooting and before he reportedly changed clothes. Earlier, the FBI released video appearing to show the gunman lying prone on a campus rooftop, then jumping off the building and fleeing into a nearby neighborhood.
Authorities believe Robinson changed into a black T-shirt with an American flag on it before the attack. A separate video obtained by TMZ shows a man dressed in dark clothing walking quickly through a neighborhood after the shooting. While law enforcement has not confirmed the individual’s identity in this later video, it is believed to be the suspect fleeing the scene.
The investigation remains ongoing as authorities continue to gather evidence to identify and apprehend Robinson.
