FBI Director Kash Patel has launched an investigation into former FBI Director James Comey over allegations of surveillance during the 2016 Trump campaign.
According to a whistleblower, Comey authorized an “off-the-books” investigation into Trump in 2015, involving two female undercover agents. This investigation was separate from the FBI’s Crossfire Hurricane probe into Russian interference and was reportedly aimed at gathering information on Trump without a specific criminal focus.
Patel and FBI Deputy Director Dan Bongino are investigating the origins of this covert operation.
The whistleblower revealed that Comey personally directed the operation, which was hidden from the Justice Department’s oversight and involved potential bias within the FBI.
