Turning Point USA announced Thursday that Erika Kirk, widow of slain conservative activist Charlie Kirk, has been unanimously elected as the organization’s new CEO and chair of its board of directors. The group shared that Charlie had expressed his wish for Erika to lead in the event of his death.
Charlie Kirk, 31, was fatally shot on Sept. 10 while speaking at Utah Valley University, leaving his supporters shocked and the future of the group uncertain. Turning Point USA’s board expressed strong confidence in Erika’s leadership, highlighting her experience working alongside her husband and her dedication to continuing his mission.
The board described Erika as the natural successor to carry forward Charlie’s vision centered on faith and patriotism. They emphasized their commitment to preserving and expanding the organization, declaring, “We have a country to save,” and vowed not to surrender or bow to opposition. The statement concluded with a blessing for Erika, the Kirk family, and the entire Turning Point USA team.
A public memorial for Charlie Kirk is scheduled for Sept. 21 at State Farm Stadium in Glendale, Arizona. Thousands are expected to attend, including notable speakers such as President Donald Trump, Vice President JD Vance, and Secretary of State Marco Rubio. The event will celebrate Kirk’s legacy as a faith-driven leader committed to America’s future.
Turning Point USA, founded by Charlie in 2012, is one of the largest conservative youth organizations in the U.S. With Erika now at the helm, the group aims to continue and grow his movement amid ongoing investigations into his murder.
