Taylor Greene Claps Back At Crockett Over Twisted Claim About Kirk Assassin

Greene and Crockett Clash Over Suspect’s Political Ties in Charlie Kirk Case

Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-Ga.) and Rep. Jasmine Crockett (D-Texas) clashed during a heated House Oversight Committee hearing over the political leanings of Tyler Robinson, the suspect accused of assassinating conservative activist Charlie Kirk. Crockett repeated a debunked claim that Robinson supported former President Donald Trump, citing a statement from the suspect’s grandmother that their family was “all MAGA.”

Greene strongly rejected the claim, asserting that Robinson embraced far-left ideology and was active in online communities associated with Antifa. She noted reports indicating that Robinson had been outspoken on LGBTQ+ issues and was in a relationship with a transgender individual. “That is a complete lie and it’s an insult to every single Republican,” Greene said, emphasizing that Robinson had no connection to the MAGA movement.

Crockett attempted to back her claim by citing a Yahoo News article that quoted Robinson’s grandmother, but Greene dismissed the source as misleading. She warned that such political mischaracterizations are dangerous, citing the 2017 congressional baseball shooting that injured Rep. Steve Scalise and the recent assassination attempt on Donald Trump as consequences of inflammatory rhetoric.

“This is what has led to Charlie Kirk getting assassinated,” Greene declared. “We’re not going to tolerate that anymore.” Her remarks underscored a broader GOP concern over what they see as politicized violence against conservatives.

Later, Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-N.Y.) condemned a resolution honoring Kirk, accusing him of anti-Semitic and racist views. Meanwhile, Robinson, 22, has been charged with seven counts and could face the death penalty if convicted.
