Fox News anchor Bret Baier reacted strongly to Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard’s explosive claims accusing former President Barack Obama of orchestrating a “treasonous conspiracy” against his successor, Donald Trump. Speaking at a White House briefing last week, Gabbard alleged she had evidence showing Obama’s involvement in fueling the Trump-Russia collusion narrative after the 2016 election. Days earlier, she sent a criminal referral to the Justice Department accusing the Obama administration of trying to “subvert President Trump’s victory and presidency.”
During a discussion on Fox News, anchor Martha MacCallum highlighted the stark difference in how Hillary Clinton was treated compared to Trump. She noted that Clinton received a “defensive briefing” while Trump faced what appeared to be a lower bar for launching investigations. Baier agreed, referencing documents released by Sen. Chuck Grassley on Clinton’s email case, which he called “eye-opening,” and recalling his 2018 interview with former FBI Director James Comey about the disparity.
Baier also pointed to the involvement of FBI officials Peter Strzok and Lisa Page, whose anti-Trump texts and roles in key interviews — including those of Clinton and then-National Security Adviser Michael Flynn — raised concerns about bias. He said the “big picture” of these events remains “really troubling” and emphasized Fox News’ commitment to covering the story in depth.
Gabbard released documents and a memo outlining what she called a “years-long coup” against Trump. She said whistleblowers from within the intelligence community have begun coming forward and vowed to turn over all evidence to the Justice Department, calling for indictments of those responsible.
She characterized the whistleblowers as individuals “disgusted” by the alleged conspiracy and stated that justice must be served regardless of the power or influence of those involved.
