Patel Says FBI Going To Chicago Amid Immigration Efforts: ‘Will Be Saved’

FBI Director Kash Patel Vows Justice After DHS Agents Targeted in Violent Chicago Ambush

FBI Director Kash Patel promised swift justice after two suspects allegedly rammed a Department of Homeland Security (DHS) vehicle in Chicago, amid rising violence nationwide. “Chicago will be saved, and this FBI will continue to crush violent crime there, and all around the country,” Patel wrote on X.

The DHS identified the suspects as Marimar Martinez and Anthony Ian Santos Ruiz, calling them “domestic terrorists” who ambushed federal agents on Saturday. Martinez, reportedly armed and with a history of doxxing federal officials, was shot by CBP agents and later taken into FBI custody. Santos Ruiz, the driver, was also arrested. Both face federal charges for assaulting officers with a deadly weapon under Title 18, U.S. Code Sections 111(a) and (b).

Patel confirmed their arrest, warning, “Attack our law enforcement, and this FBI will find you and bring you to justice.” DHS reports the scene turned more violent as others joined the attack, throwing gas, rocks, and bottles at agents. Another individual was arrested for assaulting CBP officers during the chaos.

Tensions escalated further on Friday when two suspects allegedly attempted to ram ICE officers with their vehicles in another attack in Chicagoland. That same day, DHS arrested Juan Espinoza Martinez, a criminal illegal immigrant and Latin Kings gang member, for placing a bounty on U.S. Border Patrol Chief Gregory Bovino.

DHS Secretary Kristi Noem confirmed that federal officers are being targeted by gangs, cartels, and terror groups. She revealed that agents were recently cornered by a caravan of ten vehicles in Chicago, resulting in gunfire and escalating violence.
