Following the tragic assassination of Turning Point USA (TPUSA) founder Charlie Kirk, conservatives across the country have mourned his loss. In the aftermath, many supporters and observers have begun examining his final months more closely, hoping to gain insight into his evolving views and whether they may provide context for his untimely death.
A significant point of focus has been Kirk’s shifting stance on Israel. While he was historically one of Israel’s most vocal advocates in conservative circles, those close to him suggest he had started to question certain aspects of that support. Concerns reportedly included the Israeli military’s actions and the extent of U.S. alignment with Israeli policies.
Adding to the controversy, political commentator Candace Owens released text messages allegedly from Kirk, which implied growing discomfort with some Jewish donors and political pressures surrounding pro-Israel advocacy. One message read, “Jewish donors play into all the stereotypes,” and another noted that he was considering stepping away from the cause due to funding threats. Though many initially doubted the authenticity of the texts, TPUSA spokesperson Andrew Kolvet confirmed on The Charlie Kirk Show that the messages were real.
Kolvet explained that Kirk had been wrestling with these issues for some time. He clarified that Kirk was not anti-Israel but was trying to reconcile his strong support for free speech with growing unease over external pressure from major donors. According to Kolvet, these conversations were consistent with what Kirk had shared privately with close colleagues.
As the investigation into Kirk’s assassination continues, many within the conservative movement are calling for patience, transparency, and a full accounting of the facts before drawing conclusions.
