Baier Praises Trump As Final Living Hostages Released Amid Israel-Palestine Deal

Fox News anchor Bret Baier praised former President Donald Trump on Monday for his role in brokering a historic peace deal between Israel and Hamas. Speaking on America’s Newsroom alongside Martha MacCallum and Benjamin Hall, Baier highlighted Trump’s recent speech to the Israeli Knesset, calling it a defining moment in his legacy. “That speech is going to be one of the speeches President Trump is remembered for,” Baier said, emphasizing how warmly Trump was received in Israel, where he is now seen as a hero figure.

President Trump also expressed his own sense of pride in the unprecedented unity shown across the region. He described the celebrations in both Israel and neighboring Muslim countries as “very special” and unlike anything seen before. “Everybody is cheering at one time. That’s never happened before,” he said. The peace agreement resulted in the release of the final 20 Israeli hostages and the return of 2,000 Palestinian prisoners, bringing an end to a brutal two-year war that followed the Hamas attacks of October 2023.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu publicly thanked Trump, calling him the “greatest friend” Israel has ever had. He credited Trump for his support at the United Nations, his recognition of Israel’s claims in disputed territories, and for withdrawing the U.S. from the Iran nuclear deal, which Netanyahu had long opposed.

The peace agreement includes significant terms: Hamas will disarm, Israeli forces will halt military operations, and a new governing body will take charge in Gaza. This transitional administration will be overseen by an international “Board of Peace,” chaired by Trump, former British Prime Minister Tony Blair, and other world leaders. Their mission is to manage reconstruction and guide Gaza toward stable civilian leadership.

In addition to political restructuring, Trump’s plan focuses on economic development. The proposal aims to transform Gaza into a modern, prosperous region through foreign investment and improved trade. Humanitarian aid—monitored by neutral organizations like the UN and Red Crescent—will flow freely, supporting infrastructure repair, medical aid, and rebuilding efforts to create lasting peace and opportunity.
