White House Set To Release New Briefing Room Seating Chart

Reports indicate that the White House is preparing to unveil a new seating arrangement for the briefing room, potentially moving some major outlets from their traditional front-row spots.

Axios reported that the administration plans to create its own seating chart, traditionally managed by the journalist-led White House Correspondents’ Association.

A senior White House official stated that the goal is to restructure the briefing room to reflect current media consumption trends. The official emphasized that the focus isn’t solely on favorable coverage but on providing an honest look at how outlets are consumed today. While major legacy outlets will remain, some may lose their prominent positions in favor of others that provide consistent coverage.

This move is expected to draw backlash from reporters, with critics accusing the Trump administration of trying to mute detractors while favoring its supporters. The White House has defended the changes as necessary for efficiency.
