Former US President Barack Obama Photobombs a Family Photoshoot in Washington, DC, Causing a Stir

A Washington, DC, family’s springtime photo session took an unexpected turn when former President Barack Obama casually walked into their shot.

Portia Moore was photographing her children near the Washington Monument when Obama appeared in the background. The moment, captured during their cherry blossom shoot, went viral after being shared on April 1, 2025.

While Moore was focused on her kids, her son Damien mentioned that Obama had passed by. Moore checked with the photographer and discovered Obama in the frame. She called it “the perfect shot” and a new family heirloom. Obama even commented on the photo, apologizing for stepping into the shot.

The family’s story gained media attention, and Moore joked about using the photo for their Christmas card. Obama later shared his own photos, highlighting the cherry blossoms, while also playfully noting his tourist moment.
