WI Voters Enshrine Voter ID Law In State Constitution: ‘Big Win For Republicans’

On Tuesday night, Wisconsin voted to enshrine the state’s voter ID law in the state constitution, ensuring photo ID is required for voting. This constitutional amendment, proposed by the Republican-controlled legislature, aims to protect election integrity and prevent the law from being overturned in court.

Republicans, including President Trump and Elon Musk, celebrated the measure’s success. State Sen. Van Wanggaard, a Republican, argued it would preserve electoral integrity regardless of legislative control.

Trump praised the approval on Truth Social, calling it a big win for Republicans, while Musk expressed his support with a brief “Yeah!” on X.

This vote comes amid a lawsuit from the DNC and lawmakers challenging Trump’s executive order on illegal immigrant voting.
